The new deal will take Yost through the 2016 season. Kansas City won 89 games in 2014 to clinch one of two wild card spots in the American League. Yost then became the first manager in major league history to win his first eight postseason games, capping it with the American League title. The Royals took San Francisco to a seventh game in the 2014 World Series, before losing the deciding game.
